Patchway Athletic Youth U12's versus Cadbury Heath 'B' (Played at Scott Park on 25/01/04)

Patchway faced Cadbury Heath in a top of the table clash following their 4-4 draw earlier in the season. The match was played in dry weather on a decent playing surface. The home side ran out 3-1 winners.

Cadbury Heath made the better start to the first half and took a deserved 1-0 lead following some sloppy defending by the hosts. The home side struggled to get a grip of the game losing many of the important early tackles. Twenty minutes into the first half skipper Jonathan Noyes equalised by scoring a well taken individual goal. This settled the Patchway nerves and they went on to create some good chances which were not taken. Half time score 1-1.

As seen in previous matches of this importance Patchway started the second half in determined fashion, by continuing to create good chances.
Striker Ben Speariett latched on to a neat through ball to rifle in a fierce left foot shot to give his side a 2-1 advantage. Cadbury Heath pressed hard for the equaliser but lacked the killer ball to cause the home side problems.
Marksmen Tallen Smith put the game beyond the reach of the visitors with a cool finish to make the final score 3-1.

In summary the hosts kept their nerve despite conceding the early goal. They remained patient by playing passing football that paid dividends with a deserved 3-1 victory.
