Under 13's archive news season 2003-2004 . Away game against DRG STAPLETON 07/09/2003 Patchway Athletic kicked off the first half to start the new season in their new colours, with great determination, taking hold of the game from the start. DRG were kept under pressure most of the first half. Patchway's first goal came from Dan Smith after 5 minutes, striking the ball past the keeper. Dan got his second 3 minutes later, from inside the box. DRG did manage to get one back after 19 minutes, when one of their forwards was fouled outside the box. Ross Jones scoring in off the post from the free kick. Patchway took a further hold of the game after 25 minutes, when Alex French miss cued a high pass into the box and chipped it past the out stretched keeper. DRG got another free kick when Patchway's keeper handled the ball outside the box. Again DRG scored from the free kick, R. Jones putting the ball into the top left on 27 minutes. DRG kicked off the second half, again Patchway dominated the game. Dan got his third goal with a great strike 5 minutes into the second half. DRG did pick up a bit, but Patchway's defence kept DRG at bay. DRG managed to get a third goal, when Joe Bennett scored from a corner, with 5 minute to go. Patchway did play very well, with some great football from Matt Mann and Matt Webb. Home game against CADBURY HEATH 'B' 14/09/2003 Patchway Athletic kicked off the first half hoping to continue the new season with a win, but Cadbury were also up for the game also having won last week. Cadbury took hold of the game and held Patchway into their own half for a lot of the first half. Patchway went down 2 - 0 at half time, after some tough football. Cadbury played the better football, but Patchway were able to keep Cadbury from making it more. Cadbury kicked off the second half, again Patchway was put under pressure. Cadbury got another couple of quick goals from some good play. Patchway's first goal came from a set piece, Jamie Moore passing in from a great corner and Jordan Hendry getting the goal with a great header. Cadbury then got 2 more goals, Cadbury beating the off-side trap to get a couple of easy goals. Patchway did manage to get another goal, Patchway got a free kick just outside the box, which was converted by Jamie Moore, putting the ball into the top left corner. Patchway went down 6 - 2. Away game against Bishopston 12/10/2003 Patchway Athletic kicked of the first half after Bishopston won the toss and electing to change ends. Bishopston playing with the wind played the better football in the first half, scoring after 7 minutes, chipping the keeper . Bishopston got another goal 17 minutes into the game, from a penalty. After a team talk Patchway came out determined to win the game. Now playing with the wind, Patchway had the advantage. Sam Hood got Patchway�s first goal of the game 5 minutes into the second half, shooting from outside the box. Sam got his second goal 1 minute later, when Patchway won the ball from the restart and a high through ball put him through on goal and slotted it past the keeper. Bishopston got their third goal after 27 minutes when a high shot cleared Craig Reed�s out stretched arms. Patchway then managed to beat the off side trap and get the ball into the box, Bishopston hand balled in the box, giving Patchway a penalty, which was converted and scored by Jamie Moore. The last few minutes of the game went Patchway�s way, pressing up and managed to get the winning goal in injury time when Sam Hood got his third goal hitting the ball into the top left corner. Bishopston tried to make a break but Patchway defended well to hold onto the win. Game ended 4-3 to Patchway. Home game against Mangotsfield Utd 19/10/2003 Patchway Athletic kicked of the first half. Patchway took hold of the game and played some great passing football. Patchway's first goal of the game came 21 minutes into the first half when Scott Weston hit home a goal inside the 6 Yards box, from a corner. Patchway keeping up the pressure got there 2nd goal 10 minutes later, when Dan Smith slotted the ball in the bottom left corner, passed the out stretched keeper. Half time score 2 - 0. The second half started and Patchway still had most of the play. Patchway got their 3rd goal and Dan Smith getting his second of the game when Alex French struck the ball onto the post and Dan taking the opportunity to slot the ball into the net. Patchway got their 4th goal again with Alex heading the ball into the box and hitting the crossbar, Jordan Hendry gathering up the loose ball to score his 3rd goal of the season. Mangotsfield did break a few times but Patchway's defence kept strong. Craig Reed in goal pulled out one of the best saves of the season, with a fantastic diving save, to keep a clean sheet for Patchway. Game ended 4-0 to Patchway. Home game against Cadbury Heath 'A' 07/12/2003 Patchway's game today was against top of the table Cadbury Heath 'A' Cadbury Heath kicked of the first half. Patchway took hold of the game straight away and kept Cadbury in their area for most of the first half. Patchway's first goal of the game came after 33 minutes, when, Sam Hood hit home a goal inside the 6 Yards box, to take Patchway into a 1-0 lead at half time. Craig Reed made a couple great saves to keep Patchway in the game. Patchway kicked off the second half and again Patchway still made most of the play. Patchway made a change at half time bringing on Josh Bullock for Craig Reed in goal to give him his first game for the club. Cadbury got their 1st goal from a free kick, getting the ball into the box and slotting home a goal. Cadbury upped the pressure and got their 2nd goal 7 minutes later, chipping the out stretched keeper. In the dieing minutes of the game Patchway got their 2nd goal to equalize, when Jordan Hendry slotted in a goal from a save made by Cadbury's keeper. Cadbury did get a third goal but was disallowed for an offside decision. Patchway played an outstanding game of football, every player giving their all. Game ended 2-2.
